  • 500 grams chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoon soy sauce use low sodium if possible
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Optional: To get tender, odor-free, and flavorful chicken wings, place them in a brine for 30 minutes. I have an easy recipe on my blog that you’ll love. But you can skip this step if you wish.

  • In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients except the chicken wings. Mix them well until combined.

  • Pat the chicken wings dry and then add them to the previous mixture, keep mixing for at least two minutes to make sure the ingredients have covered all the wings.

  • Refrigerate for an hour to three hours.

  • Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket. Air fry on 170C/338F for 8 minutes, flip the chicken wings, and air fry for another 8 minutes.

  • Serve the chicken wings while hot with Toum sauce, Tahini sauce, or your favorite dip.

  • I always place the chicken wings in a brine for 30 minutes to make it tender, juicy, and get rid of any odor. You can skip this step and just marinate the wings for one to two hours in the fridge.
  • You can deep fry these wings, they will taste a little like the one you get from the Chinese restaurant and will come out crispy and delicious.
  • It is best to remove the tip of the chicken wing, it might burn or get dry while cooking, also removing it will give you space to add more chicken wings in the air fryer.
  • I have used medium size chicken wings, but in the United States you can get larger chicken wings, and they will take longer time in the air fryer.
  • My air fryer didn’t require preheating.
