How to make Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast:
Step 1. Melt the butter in a skillet or saucepan over medium heat on the stove.
Step 2. Add the flour to the butter, and whisk to combine well, cooking for a minute or two until the raw flour taste has been cooked off.
Step 3. Slowly whisk in first the milk and then the heavy whipping cream.
Step 4. Add pepper to taste.
Step 5. Bring the mixture to a rolling simmer over medium heat, and whisk often to prevent burning.
Step 6. Once the sauce has thickened to your liking, add the beef into the skillet or saucepan, and stir to combine. Cook an additional 3-5 minutes.
Step 7. Serve over toast.

8 oz. Dried beef in a jar chopped into pieces
2 Tbsp. Butter unsalted
2 Tbsp. All purpose flour
1 C. Milk
½ C. Heavy whipping cream

Chipped beef over toast is delicious, but the chipped beef in a jar is much too salty ! I will soak some salt off it next time I make it.

My Mom used the BUDDIG CHIPPED BEEF,, LUNCH MEAT.. Shaved the same, less salt,, came in 2.5 or 4 oz. pkg in the lunch meat section.. I still use it..
