But the difference between the two really comes down to the ingredients, they both need flour, water, and salt, but pizza dough has an additional ingredient, yeast. Pizza dough is a leavened dough where flatbread is unleavened, giving it that flat texture. In terms of age, flatbreads are older, dating back over7,000 years ago, where the modern pizza was invented just a few hundred years ago in the 18th century.
Either way you top them, there is no argument that they are both delicious and enjoyed daily by the masses! In fact, 350 slices of pizza are eaten each second in the U.S and each person eats about 46 pizza slices a year. That’s a lot of pizza!
