Ready to up your Valentine’s Day game? Create a Valentine’s charcuterie board by mixing and matching your favorite cheeses, meats, and a few heart-shaped treats for the perfect Valentine’s Day appetizer!
Cheese boards are right up there with Christmas and chocolate for me. I LOVE them. I also have a Summer Grazing Board, Fall Charcuterie Board and tips for adding a centerpiece charcuterie in this dinner party for Father’s Day.
We often create these “grazing boards” for family dinners, but of course, they’re absolutely perfect for parties and occasions. Even my daughter helps add her favorite foods to the boards for snacks.
Valentine’s Charcuterie Board
Speaking of occasions, I created a Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board to share! I’m absolutely tickled pink with how it turned out, and I’ve decided it will be a Valentine’s Day tradition.
There are a few main staples of this charcuterie board including cheese, nuts, pink treats, and heart-shaped foods.
I’ve made a handy list below of all the items on my Valentine’s Day Charcuterie board, but you have permission to tailor it to your favorite flavors. I tried to add a mix of sweet and salty, but if you love chocolate, add in more! Love cheese? Choose your personal favorite cheeses. You get the idea!
Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board Ingredients
- Walnuts (raw, candied walnuts, and walnut fudge)
- Cheese (manchega, brie, and cranberry wensleydale, white cheddar, pepper jack)
- Crostini
- Heart-Shaped Toasts
- Meats (salami and prosciutto)
- Breadsticks
- Honey
- Raspberries
- Raspberry Macarons
- Strawberries
How to Make a Charcuterie Board for Valentine’s Day:
- Begin by finding the perfect board like a marble slab, wooden board, or even a large plate or platter will work just fine. I place any little bowls first such as dips or honeys. I also placed the candied walnuts in a small bowl to differentiate them from the raw walnuts.
- Next, I like to add in all the cheeses. There’s no rhyme or reason, I just space them out evenly. Arrange the breadsticks, crostini, and heart toasts throughout. Next, I added in all the raw walnuts. Finally, I like to add fruits, chocolates, and treats like macarons.
- For Valentine’s Day, I added a few mini pink carnations but spray roses (small, tiny rosebuds) would also be a cute addition! Get creative and think of ways to give your charcuterie board that Valentine’s Day touch. I love the addition of raspberries and strawberries for that pop of red.
- For the heart-shaped toasts, I used a miniature cookie cutter. I also used the same cutter on sliced cheeses. You could create heart-shaped crostinis as well. The little hearts add the perfect Valentine’s Day touch!
What I really love about charcuterie boards is that you can offer guests or family a chance to create their own appetizer plate. I also like to be sure I have a variety of choices from healthier items to the sweet treats too.
Now that my husband and I have children, it can be hard to find a sitter and go out to eat for Valentine’s Day which is why I love this charcuterie board idea. We can make this a meal and enjoy a movie night at home. I hope you’re inspired to do the same this Valentine’s Day!

A board worthy of Valentine's Day with meats, cheeses and lots of heart-shaped treats!

1 mini heart cookie cutter
Ingredients
- 1 cup walnuts - or other nuts
- 8 ounces cheese varieties - such as manchega, brie, and cranberry wensleydale, white cheddar, pepper jack
- 1/2 baguette - sliced
- 4 slices bread - for cutting in to hearts
- 6 ounces prosciutto - salami, etc.
- 4 large brownies - cut into small bites
- 12 breadsticks
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- 2 tbsp honey
- 6 macarons
Instructions
Use a small heart cutter to cut into the sliced bread to make small hearts. Toast until crispy.
On a large board, begin by arranging cheeses, toasts, meats and more. Use small bowls for honey or other dips or glazes.
Tuck in fudge or brownie bites throughout. Add in any other desserts (like macarons or cookies).
Garnish with small flowers if desired.
