It's an exciting film to watch, but an even better one to think about after - preferably in the company of a real, physically present person.

The ending reveals that Mother is a sentient AI responsible for the near-extinction of humanity, and Daughter must make a deal with her to protect her brother and take control of the project. The film explores themes of motherhood and the absence of free will.

A source close to the negotiations indicates Netflix paid around $3 million for I Am Mother. The film is Sputore's feature film debut. Swank co-stars with Danish newcomer Clara Rugaard, while Rose Byrne provides the voice of the eponymous robot.

IS THE ROBOT IN I AM MOTHER EVIL? Yes, but not quite in the way that Swank's character accuses her of being evil. As it turns out, Mo-bot does care about Daughter, as evidenced by the way she lets her escape when Swank threatens Daughter's life.

It later becomes clear that Woman was the first, but why was she out in the world instead of in the bunker? Earlier in the movie, Woman told Daughter that she had been adopted by a couple who had survived the apocalypse.

In I Am Mother, we find ourselves in a dystopian worlds where all human life has been wiped out. It's Day 1 and Daughter (Clara Rugaard) is born from a frozen embryo.

It is indeed watchable and therefore recommended.... The story-telling was just right and it was not slow, dragging and boring.. It has a unique plot again which is usual for a KDrama and the criminal who turns out to be the good samaritan is the winner at the end.... something like the good prevails over evil....

Definitely worth a watch. Though it switches between Paris and Berlin it is clear and not at all confusing. A good way to spend about four hours.

I Am Mother is Netflix's latest entry into the dystopian genre, where the line between robots and humanity are blurred. An adventure that is more philosophical and cerebral than the usual action-thriller.
