Kennedy (JFK) today and we were able to check out this nifty club on the opening day! The lounge is located in Terminal 4 just past TSA Security checkpoint to the left of the escalators, which is Delta’s home at JFK. The lounge is open daily from 6am-8pm, it’s unclear if the hours will be extended as flights resume. Both cardholders of theÂPlatinum Card® from American Express, andÂThe Business Platinum Card® from American ExpressÂare able to access the lounge and can bring in two guests with them each time. Additionally, cardholders of theÂDelta SkyMiles Reserve Card receive access along as you’re flying on a Delta flight the same day. The Centurion Lounge at JFK spans 15,000 square feet, making the club the largest Centurion Lounge yet and the first with two floors. There’s plenty of seating throughout and due to the current pandemic, social distance measures are in place throughout. The lounge has three bars throughout with the first one being on the top floor. The bar is fully stocked and the bartenders are willing to make anything from the co*cktail menu as well as any favorite drink you might like. I couldn’t come to the club and not try the bar’s signature co*cktail “The Blue Door“, which features Johnnie Walker Black Label blended scotch whiskey, Meyers dark rum, lemon juice and benedictine.
1850 Speakeasy Bar
However, you’ll want to head to the lower level which features two of it’s own bars including a speakeasy! The 1850 Speakeasy Bar has it’s own co*cktail menu with special drinks only available in this bar, which I suspect will become the club’s main hotspot.
There are three speciality co*cktails available in the speakeasy bar and Leslie the bartender was happy to make all three.
First off is the BoulevardierÂwhich encompasses N.Y. Distilling Co. Ragtime Rye Whiskey, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, Campari.
You’ll notice the the ice and lemon are engraved with a 1850 logo, which is the year that American Express was founded.
Next up is the Espresso Martini featuring Absolute Vodka, Kahlua Especial, and espresso a must before a long flight!
The Southside co*cktail is the third speciality co*cktail exclusive to this bar, which is a mix of Beefeater Gin, lemon juice and mint.
Food and Beverage
The Centurion Lounge at JFK has food buffets on both floors with the top floor offering more extensive options. Due to current measures in place, all food is being served by an attendant.
Items are served a la carte and included farro soup with chicken broth with a butternut squash crostini. Starters included fennel salad and castelvetrano olives and caciocavallo cheese.
Mains include steak with romesco, taleggio sauce, and golden potatoes. Additionally there was a vegetarian option of a fried mistake mushroom po’boy.
Dessert included chocolate cake served with black sesame seeds and whipped cream in addition to seasonal fresh fruit.
Equinox Body Lab
The Centurion Lounge at JFK is home to the first Equinox Body LabÂwhich is a first-of-its kind regenerative destination designed specifically for an indulgent pre-flight experience.
Here you can take part in self-guided meditation and stretching sessions using the Variis by Equinox app, a vibro-acoustic chair to help fliers relax before takeoff, and more.

Bottom Line
American Express continues to invest in its Centurion Lounge making this the fourth one to open this year following Phoenix, Charlotte, and Los Angeles. At 15,000 square feet it’s clear why this is one of the lounge’s Flagship locations and I don’t see overcrowding to become an issue here.
The 1850 Speakeasy Bar is one of the lounge highlights and a must if stopping in before your flight. The signature co*cktails here were all spectacular and the bartenders were eager to please.
The Equinox Body Lab is also a first for a Centurion Lounge and if you’re looking to get in some pre-flight stretching, meditation, yoga or even a quick workout, then you’ll want to stop in. All the experiences are included with access to the lounge.
It’s great to haveÂJFK Centurion Lounge located at Terminal 4, as it should alleviate some of the crowds in the Terminal 4 Delta SkyClub as many Platinum and Centurion cardholders will now have another lounge option in the terminal.
