‘Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown says Christine faked a relationship with Kody

  • Robyn accused Christine of “fake” a good relationship with Kody in “Sister Wives”.
  • She also said that Christine and Kody “don’t communicate well at all.”
  • Janelle told the cameras she felt the conversation was aimed at “invalidating” Christine.

On Sunday’s episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” star Christine Brown told her former sister wives Robyn, Janelle and Meri that she had a buyer for her home and was moving to Utah in a week.

The news led to an intense conversation about the state of Kody’s marriages, during which Robyn Brown accused Christine of “faking” a good marriage in front of her when the family lived in Las Vegas.

After Christine said that some of the children in the family had seen her marriage to Kody struggle since they lived in Las Vegas, Robyn got defensive. “In Las Vegas? OK, that’s a lie,” she said.

“Because I remember the conversations, I remember what was going on,” Robyn added. “I remember Janelle and Kody making their relationship better than it ever was. I remember him talking to you. I remember going on fun dates with you, hearing about it and seeing your relationship.”

“So either you were faking in front of me…I don’t know,” she concluded.

In a solo interview about the swap, Kody’s second wife, Janelle Brown, told the cameras it was strange to see Robyn accusing Christine of lying because she knew the couple had been having issues for a long time. She said she felt like Robyn and Kody (who were present for the conversation, which took place in Christine’s backyard) were trying “to invalidate Christine, just tell her she’s crazy” and leave the family “on a whim”.

Robyn misunderstood that Christine was talking about her own marriage to Kody and not claiming that all of Kody’s marriages were unhealthy in Las Vegas. Although they finally cleared up the misunderstanding, it was a rare moment of tense dialogue between the women of the Brown family, who don’t usually talk to each other about their one-on-one relationships with Kody.

Christine and Janelle claimed that Kody has been favoring Robyn and her children for many years now, as chronicled in previous seasons of “Sister Wives.”

During a season 16 episode, Christine told the cameras that some of her daughters saw that Kody had “apparently” favorite children and therefore found it difficult for them to “respect” him.

During the conversation on Sunday’s episode, when Christine started telling Robyn that she and Kody had some important conversations about how their relationship wasn’t working out, Robyn got defensive.

“However, you don’t talk, you don’t communicate,” she said. “You don’t communicate very well at all. So I don’t really see how it could even be legit.”

Christine then claimed that she and Kody had communicated “better” over the past six months, which he disagreed with.

Christine and Kody separated in 2021 after more than 25 years of “spiritual” marriage. This season has chronicled the complicated nature of the split, revealing how many people are affected when a woman chooses to leave a plural family.

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
