Is there customization in Nioh? ›

Nioh 2 features a deep character creation suite that allows you to fully customize your own character, defining every part of your appearance, from height, build, and gender, right down to how curly your fringe is.

Nioh isn't too hard, but has similar difficulty to those games in general, meaning you will struggle at times, especially early, and especially if you're going against enemies at a higher level than what you're at.

Nioh is an action role-playing game set in Japan during the year 1600, with players taking the role of an Irish samurai named William.

Run out of stamina and you can find yourself stunned, and dead. But there is some help available to those that keep getting smashed by the same one-legged demon over and over again. For lack of accessibility settings, I'l call them “easy modes”. Nioh 2 has two basic systems in place to help you along.

Not a copy at all and it has way more complex battle system and skill system, but it was inspired by Dark souls and few other games.

You can play the base game with a female character (google Okatsu, Maria, f*cku, Ginchiyo and Tome) once you've unlocked them, but it will take a long time.

Beware , this game is for no casual. I heard that alot barely make it past the first level. This game just as hard as the first one, and I lived for every second of it.

you seem to have less ki and use more ki per action than in the first game; so you are limited in what you can do by how quickly your ki disappears. eventually - because of the way they changed defense - you can become far tankier in Nioh 2 than you ever could in Nioh - which makes it quite a bit easier.

Nioh has the more complex combat system, though, and takes a good bit of time and effort to master. Dark Souls 3 is plenty hard enough, but compared to Nioh's faster pace, much of the difficulty seems to come from the "clunky" way your avatar is always half a second behind your control inputs.

Is there a prequel to Nioh? ›

Set in Japan during the late 1500s, most of Nioh 2 storyline chapters are a prequel to Nioh, while the end chapters of the story take place after the first game's last storyline following the Siege of Osaka.

You can approach and defeat enemies and bosses in so many different ways which, for me, creates more replayability. There's also far more build variety and customisation options in Nioh, that not only help the replayability but create even more ways to approach combat that Dark Souls simply cannot match.

When focusing on the main objectives, Nioh is about 35½ Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 97 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

It caps at 750 and each stat has a max of 200. But when you get to 750, you get a brand new leveling screen with 4 new stats: attack, defense, life, or luck.

In order to respec skills in Nioh 2, players will first have to unlock the Blacksmith in-game. Luckily, this will be completed over the course of the story. Players will just have to beat the second main mission of the game, and then the Blacksmith will be permanently unlocked.
