Logan Paul says he suffered severe knee ligament damage in WWE fight

Logan Paul’s widely acclaimed WWE performance this weekend comes at a cost.

Paul, the former YouTuber who dabbled in boxing and now professional wrestling, announced on social media on Saturday night that he tore an MCL and meniscus, and potentially an ACL, during his WWE main event match with Roman Reigns earlier in Saudi Arabia. The ad is accompanied by a photo of Paul raising and icing his right knee.

The fight was for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship and was won by titleholder Reigns after nearly 25 minutes. Paul wrote that he tore his knee mid-match, which also featured an appearance from his brother, Jake, a former YouTuber who last week beat former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at a professional boxing contest.

The 27-year-old Paul drew rave reviews for his outing against Reigns, considering it was just his third career pro wrestling match. A risky move came when he jumped off the top rope onto Reigns, who was lying outside the ring on a table, while Paul took video with a cellphone in his left hand. Paul made his WWE debut in April at WrestleMania and is signed to WWE, but not as a full-time performer.

In June 2021, Paul fought Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing match in which no winner was announced.
